Welcome to the New Rivers Assembly of God Health Fair provided by HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland. The below screenings are available at the health fair!

Online registration allows the Health Fair participant to sign up for the Health Fair and to make their Health Fair experience quick and easy. Select your timeslot to guarantee your arrival time for your blood work. Time slots are subject to delay. 

Note. Participants are strongly encouraged to arrive with exact cash or a check written out  totaling the amount of the services they are to have on the day of the health fair. Any tests added on will need to be paid seperately from their initial payment.

Available tests include:

 

Hemoglobin A1C

This blood test is for those with, or at risk for, Diabetes. This test can indicate if treatment measures are working to prevent organ damage.

 

Comprehensive Blood Screening

This blood test includes a complete blood chemistry, cholesterol and lipids, cardiac risk profile, anemia test, complete blood count, kidney and liver function, and thyroid . A 10-Hour fast is required, water or black coffee only, no sugar or sweeteners.

A comprehensive metabolic panel can provide an overall picture of your body's chemical balance and metabolism. Metabolism refers to all the physical and chemical processes in the body that use energy.

 

Prostate Specific Agents (PSA)

This test is for Men only. A doctor uses these results in conjuction with an exam to screen for prostate cancer.

Prostate-specific antigen, or PSA, is a protein produced by cells of the prostate gland. The PSA test measures the level of PSA in a man's blood.
 

 

Vitamin D

This blood test measures for Vitamin D defiency and helps monitor osteporosis treatments and immune function. Vitamin D helps you to maintain strong bones, helps your muscles move, helps your nerves carry messages, and bolsters your immune system so you can fight bacteria and viruses.

The 25-hydroxy vitamin D test is the most accurate way to measure how much vitamin D is in your body. In the kidney, 25-hydroxy vitamin D changes into an active form of the vitamin. The active form of vitamin D helps control calcium and phosphate levels in the body.

Fair attendees will receive vital information about women’s and men’s health issues, as well as nutrition. Participants must be 18 years of age or older for any blood test offered at the health fair.
