| Rehabilitation Services After surgery or an illness, getting back on your feet or resuming normal activities is often more than you can handle alone. That's why St. Joseph's Hospital has a team of encouragers and motivators to help rebuild and retrain your body.We offer inpatient and outpatient programsincluding:
Physical Therapy Therapists use a combination of exercise, modalities, functional tasks and education to help decrease your pain, improve function and prevent recurrence for a wide range of issues including orthopedic problems, sports and work injuries, neurological problems, general medical problems, pain syndromes, post-surgical treatments and more. Specialty programs within our physical therapy program are also available such as:
Aquatic Therapy - For patients with chronic pain or orthopedic problems, we offer aquatic therapy at the Korte Recreation Center at no additional cost. This reduces the stress on joints by using the water to support the body and making movement easier.
- Fall Prevention - Balance problems and the risk of falling are important and valid concerns for many people on a day-to-day basis. An injury from a fall can limit a person's ability to lead an active, independent life. If you are currently having balance problems or have any history of falls, ask your doctor if physical therapy would be helpful. The program begins with an evaluation by a physical therapist, who then sets up a treatment program based on the evaluation findings and the patient's goals.
- Senior Fitness Testing - Our testing measures the physical attributes needed to perform everyday activities in later life, including, strength, endurance, flexibility, agility and balance. This is a safe and enjoyable test for adults, age 60 and above. The test will determine your fitness level as compared to others your age.
